If you let the battery go completely dead and left it that way for weeks or months then there is a possibility the battery is in a dead loop cycle. If so keep rebooting the tab with it plugged into the charger and hopefully one of the reboots it will start charging for you. If none of this works then i would assume the battery itself is faulty. If you really like the tab and want to play around with it, or just dont care about it and still want to play with it, you can pop it open and get replacement battery. Although since the battery is not meant to be replaced by users it will be a slight pain to remove. Prepare to tinker a lot.
